Indefinite waitings in MIRELA systems

Abstract: MIRELA is a high-level language and a rapid prototyping framework dedicated to systems where virtual and digital objects coexist in the same environment and interact in real time. Its semantics is given in the form of networks of timed automata, which can be checked using symbolic methods. This paper shows how to detect various kinds of indefinite waitings in the components of such systems. The method is experimented using the PRISM model checker.Comment: In Proceedings ESSS 2015, arXiv:1506.0325

“…The analysis techniques described above have been checked on various realistic examples, with satisfactory results [5,4]. For instance, when analysing our running example, the evaluation ofφ w with UPPAAL takes a few seconds for the various interesting locations w, while the evaluation of ψ w and ρ w with PRISM takes a hundred of seconds.…”

“…If the urgent channels are not available, like in the case of PRISM timed automata, a corresponding transformation is possible, which emulates the urgent channels [5].…”

“…In order to illustrate our techniques, we shall use along the paper the running example, originated from [2] and depicted in Fig. 1 modelling an augmented reality system with a sensor I (for inertial ), two cooperating processing units P (for priority) and L (for lower ), a memory component M and two rendering loops G (for graphical ) and H (for haptical ).…”

“…We present two approaches (a one step and an iterative one) accelerating and often simply making it possible to achieve these computations. We shall use as a running example a network of timed automata that occurred in the field of mixed reality applications [2].…”
