“…This result confirms that the highly ordered hexagonal phase was successfully synthesized. The well-resolved patterns with strong intensity of the main peak (100 plane) and defined intensity of (110) and (200) reflections denoted very regular channel array in contrast to other mesoporous MCM-41 obtained at similar reaction condition using clay minerals as the inorganic source. ,, This result can be attributed to the molar ratio of precursor gel achieved, which was suitable to favor the complete silica walls condensation.…”

“…The inorganic source can be effectively extracted by alkaline fusion or alkali dissolution processes, which generate new soluble phases: sodium silicate (Na 2 SiO 3 ) and sodium aluminate (NaAlO 2 ). On the other hand, Adjdir et al demonstrated that after the alkaline fusion an appropriate water treatment of clay is key to replacing laboratory-grade reagents. The obtained results indicate that during the water treatment, the increase in the weight ratio fusion mass: H 2 O from 1:4 to 1:8 allows extracting more silica and aluminum from fused volclay resulting in mesoporous production yield intensifications.…”

“…15 Several studies have been devoted to the search of cheaper raw materials that could overcome the high costs associated with the synthesis of MCM-41. [16][17][18][19] Different types of low cost materials as coal fly ash and clays have been used as alternative sources of silica and alumina in mesoporous materials synthesis, 20,21 which was proven to be a way to decrease the costs involved in the synthesis processes.…”
