Increasing Prevalence of Autism

Abstract: O n March 30, 2012, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a report estimating that autism spectrum disorder now affects 1 out of 88 children in the United States. The report, resulting from a study that looked at 8-year-old children, represents a drastic increase since 2006. At that time, the incidence was thought to be 1 in 110 children.
