“…Early indications were that parent ion intensities from MALDI analysis were in agreement with those of LC-ESI-MS (Griffin et al, 2001) and that parent and fragment ion intensities between separate runs of normal and diseased samples were consistent with Western blots or ELISA analysis of the same sample fractions (Marshall et al, 2003;Reynolds et al, 2003;Zhang et al, 2004;Malik et al, 2005;Yokoi et al, 2005;Yang et al, 2006;Haqqani et al, 2007;Morgan et al, 2007;Wilson et al, 2007;Barba de la Rosa et al, 2008;Gramolini et al, 2008;Hammerer-Lercher et al, 2008;Hao et al, 2008;Kolialexi et al, 2008;Kulasingam et al, 2008;Luque-Garcia et al, 2008;Marchi et al, 2008;Nicol et al, 2008;Plavina et al, 2008;Reichel, 2008;Xing et al, 2008;Wu et al, 2008a;Wang et al, 2008b;Zhao et al, 2008b;Domae et al, 2009;Fortin et al, 2009). Hence, where there is doubt regarding the best fit of the data, a second method such as accurate parent mass, targeted MS/MS, MRM, synthetic chromatography and spectrometry standards or immunological confirmation may be employed (Marshall et al, 2003;Zhang et al, 2004;Malik et al, 2005;Yokoi et al, 2005;Gao et al, 2005a;Haqqani et al, 2007;Plavina et al, 2007;Sardana,...…”

“…At present hundreds to thousands of endogenous peptides, including peptides from low abundance blood proteins, can be routinely extracted and identified from blood fluids (Tucholska et al, 2007;Williams et al, 2007;Hu et al, 2009a). There has been an intense effort to identify (Marshall et al, 2003 and examine the low molecular mass polypeptides of blood, sometimes referred to as the peptidome (Verhaert et al, 2001;Jurgens & Schrader, 2002;Tirumalai et al, 2003;Merrell et al, 2004;Villanueva et al, 2004Villanueva et al, , 2006aVillanueva et al, ,b, 2007Villanueva et al, , 2008Ping et al, 2005;Rai et al, 2005;Tammen et al, 2005aTammen et al, ,b, 2007Falth et al, 2006Falth et al, , 2008Geho et al, 2006;Govorukhina et al, 2006;Hortin, 2006;Ogata et al, 2006;Huang et al, 2006b;Zheng, Baker, & Hancock, 2006b;Aristoteli, Molloy, & Baker, 2007;Tian et al, 2007;Tomonaga & Nomura, 2007;Tucholska et al, 2007;Hernandez et al, 2008;Kay et al, 2008;Kojima et al, 2008;Ly & Wasinger, 2008;Mayer, Poirier, & Seidah, 2008;Navare et al, 2008;Pernemalm et al, 2008;Plavina et al, 2008;Ward et al, 2008;Xia, Wu, & Jemal, 200...…”

“…More recently, proteomic analysis has demonstrated that concentrations of cytoskeleton proteins including actin are increased in the plasma samples from patients with psoriasis compared with normal controls, emphasizing the relevance of actin filament dynamics to the etiology of psoriasis (51). The important role of hTid-1 S expression on actin filament dynamics through F-actin polymerization in the epidermis of human skin is exemplified in Fig.…”
