Increased Mean Platelet Volume in Patients with Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever

Abstract: ÖzetAmaç: Kırım-Kongo kanamalı ateşi (KKKA) virüsü Bunyavırıdae ailesinden Nairovirus gurubu içinde sınıflandırılır. Show more

“…Studies of NLR in CCHF are limited. [12][13][14][15][16] In our study, although the median NLR values on admission were in the normal range both in surviving and non-surviving patients, the median NLR value among non-survivors was approximately twice that of the survivors. CCHF may present quite differently from clinically asymptomatic to potentially fatal.…”

“…20 In recent years, many laboratory blood parameters, including WBC, neutrophils, lymphocytes, hs-CRP, MPV, and RDW, have been studied to predict mortality in various diseases. 3,21,22 Moreover, CCHF cases and relationship between WBC, platelets, neutrophils, and MPV, have also been described previously. 23 Similar to observations reported by the above-mentioned studies, 3,21 non-survivors in the present study presented with a decreased platelet count but with increased WBC, neutrophil, lymphocyte, hs-CRP, MPV, RDW, MPVPCR, and RDWPCR levels.…”

“…Previous studies in the literature were taken into consideration while estimating the sample size [10,11]. It was hypothesized that a 20% difference in the preoperative MPV of patients with low and high anxiety scores would be of clinical significance.…”
