“…A diffusor tensor imaging study in adults with autism revealed a weaker connection between the ventral premotor cortex and the SMA ( Peeva et al, 2013 ). An fMRI study of activation during a speech production task (picture naming) showed no differences in brain activation between NT and autistic children, but increased intra-subject variability in brain activation in the autistic group ( Heller Murray et al, 2022 ).
