Increased expression of long intergenic non-coding RNA LINC00152 in gastric cancer and its clinical significance

Abstract: It has been known that differential expression of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) plays critical roles in carcinogenesis. However, the significance of lncRNA, especially long intergenic ncRNA (lincRNA, the main type of lncRNA family), in the diagnosis of gastric cancer is largely unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the expression level of LINC00152, a newfound lincRNA, in gastric carcinoma and its clinical association. The expression of LINC00152 in 71 pairs of tumorous and adjacent normal tissues fro… Show more

“…For the purpose of indentifying plasma lncRNAs as potential biomarkers, we searched candidate databases of lncRNAdb, LNCipedia, and LncRNA Disease. Previous studies showed that UCA1, TUG1, CCAT1 and Linc00152 were up-regulated obviously in tumor tissues compared with nontumor tissues [16][17][18][19], while MEG3 was down-regulated significantly in tumor tissues. Regulations of all these lncRNAs in HCC have not been clarified yet.…”

“…It was demonstrated that LINC00152, gastric cancerassociated transcript 2 (GACAT2, AC130710), small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) 1 pseudogene 3 (SUMO1P3), and ABHD11 antisense RNA 1 (ABHD11-AS1) were markedly up-regulated in gastric cancer tissues (Lin et al 2014;Mei et al 2013;Pang et al 2014;Xu et al 2014), while GACAT1 (AC096655.1-002), GACAT2 (HMlincRNA717), AA174084, FER1L4, and AI364715 were significantly down-regulated in gastric cancer tissues Shao et al 2014a, b;Sun et al 2013;Zhu et al 2015). More important, as AC096655.1-002, HMlincRNA717, and AC130710 were firstly found to be closely related to gastric cancer by us, they have been officially nominated as gastric cancer-associated transcript 1 (GACAT1), GACAT2, and GACAT3, respectively Xiao and Guo 2013).…”
