Incorporation of32P and45Ca into milk and casein micelles of a buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) following intramuscular injection

Abstract: During lactation, large quantities of Ca and P are absorbed from the blood and are secreted into milk by the mammary secretory cells. Apart from some preliminary reports (Abd-Elwahab & Raafat, 1961; Raafat & Abd-Elwahab, 1961; Ahuja & Jassal, 1979, Bhushan et al. 1982), little work appears to have been done on their secretion into buffalo milk, especially in association with milk proteins which determine the quality of milk products such as cheese during their manufacture.
