Abstract:The reliability of the results of network meta‐analysis (NMA) lies in the plausibility of the key assumption of transitivity. This assumption implies that the effect modifiers' distribution is similar across treatment comparisons. Transitivity is statistically manifested through the consistency assumption which suggests that direct and indirect evidence are in agreement. Several methods have been suggested to evaluate consistency. A popular approach suggests adding inconsistency factors to the NMA model. We fo… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
