“…This is the first study to assess systolic, diastolic, and mean forearm BP against upper arm BP in anesthetized children at steady state against an externally validated standard. In the pediatric setting, previous studies investigating forearm BP measurement have not referenced accepted validation criteria, only used systolic and diastolic BP averages (results that cannot be extrapolated to other oscillometric devices), assessed BP in awake patients, and not assessed forearm‐upper arm BP relationship in a steady‐state condition, thereby retaining the confounder of concomitant surgical stimulus on BP measurements.…”
