“…Most of the studies on the association between indoor dampness problems and respiratory or allergic health effects have been cross-sectional studies [11][12][13][14][15][22][23][24][25][26]. Some have been case-control studies [5-7,9,27], while others have been cohort studies [28][29][30]. Causative agents in damp buildings have been tentatively identified and include microbial growth, mold, house dust mites (HDM) or chemicals [16,17].…”

“…Examination of non-modifiable factors is important to identify risk groups. There is no evidence as yet whether gender, socioeconomic status (SES), and birth order predict remission, although they are associated with eczema prevalence (9,(15)(16)(17)21). Therefore, this study aimed to determine factors associated with remission of AD in childhood, and the strength of selected modifiable factors in predicting remission.…”

“…12 PRCS also has the potential to exacerbate asthma, 13,14 a condition that negatively affects 2% to 20% of children. [15][16][17] In spite of its prevalence and impact on affected families, many aspects of PCRS remain ill-defined. At the most basic level, even the diagnostic definition of PCRS has not been concretely elucidated among our specialty societies, creating challenges in discussing clinical presentations or establishing human study protocols.…”
