Incidence of negative appendicectomy: retrospective follow-up of histopathology specimens

Abstract: Background: Diagnosing acute appendicitis (AA) remains challenging in spite of multiple modern diagnostic tools, therefore normal appendices may be removed in some patients thought to have AA.
