They found that advanced age was an independent risk factor for developing respiratory complications; the incidence of respiratory complications was 20.59% in patients <60 years old (hazard ratio [HR] as reference), 22.78% in those 60-69 years old (HR: 1.11, 95% CI: 0.94-1.31), 26.71% in those 70-79 years old (HR: 1.30, 95% CI: 1.09-1.54), and 27.94% in those ≥80 years old (HR: 1.36, 95% CI: 1.01-1.84).…”
