Even if they are healthier, age related changes in coordination, balance, motor strength and postural stability will reduce the elderly person's ability to avoid environmental hazards resulting in injuries from falls 8,19 . By identifying risk factors and intervening to reduce falls in a high risk population such as the elderly the increasing costs for medical care in this population might be reduced.…”
