Incidence and clinical features of kawasaki disease in Catalonia (Spain)

Previous or coincident infections with suspected Kawasaki disease. Should we change our approach?

Infecciones previas o coincidentes con la sospecha de enfermedad de Kawasaki ¿debemos cambiar nuestra actitud?

“…En nuestra serie, encontramos 65/621 (10,5%) pacientes con antecedente de una infección ORL y 6/621 (1%) con enfermedad exantemática escarlatiniforme; ambas infecciones se solapan con los criterios diagnósticos principales de EK. También 12/621 (2%) presentaron una gastroenteritis: está descrito en la literatura que la EK puede asociar síntomas compatibles con este diagnóstico 2,3 , como ha sido descrito en un estudio español realizado por Sánchez-Manubens et al, que lo encuentran hasta en un 24% de los pacientes 3 .…”
