Background: The objective of this study is to explore experiences of Czech mothers caring for children with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities.Methods: Semistructured interviews combined with biographical narration of mothers of children with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities and a short questionnaire for demographic data were used for data collection. Data analyses were carried out according to Van Manen's approach, including defining the main themes and description of the lived experiences of mothers. Findings:The dominant themes that emerged from the interviews were (1) losses and limits, (2) increased demands and exhaustion, (3) worries, (4) challenges connected to help and support, (5) transformation, ( 6) pleasures with contentment of the child and a small development and (7) functional support. Conclusions:The findings demonstrate that mothers of children with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities are at risk of facing many kinds of life difficulties, but the children have also positive impact on the mothers' lives. Relevant professionals and policy makers should be aware of the needs and challenges experienced by this vulnerable population.

Rural poverty has received extensive attention worldwide. Eliminating poverty and achieving common prosperity are the major tasks for China to build a well-off society in an all-round way. Based on the evaluation results of quality of rural life (QRL) and relative poverty index (RPI), this paper identifies and classifies the poor objects using importance–Performance analysis (IPA) method and poverty degree model. The results were as following: (1) QRL has obvious regional differences, and its value gradually decreases from west to east, which is opposite to the spatial distribution pattern of RPI. In areas with high QRL value, the RPI is lower. (2) Fifty counties and districts are clustered in the second quadrant of IPA quadrant map, i.e., Low QRL-High RPI, and the lower quality-of-life corresponds to the higher degree of relative poverty. (3) The coincidence between the poverty-stricken counties and the poverty-stricken counties of the country identified as 84.48% by IPA method, which indicates that the accuracy of poverty delineation based on income is high. (4) Gansu Province is dominated by highly impoverished areas, accounting for 60% of the total number of impoverished counties. The results of comprehensive poverty classification are in line with the actual situation of impoverished counties. In counties with higher CPL, the poverty level is deeper. It is more difficult to get rid of poverty. This study can provide theoretical basis and decision-making reference for the formulation and implementation of Poverty Alleviation Policies in the late stage of underdeveloped areas in western China.

Working Poverty and Its Dimensions The importance of working poverty increased in 2003, owing to the European strategy in which one of the goals was to reduce the number of working people in poverty in the EU. Despite its seriousness, experts have not achieved a uniform theoretical model or definition. The situation is the same for methodology and empirics, which are determined by availability of statistical data. For these reasons, knowledge of working poverty is in its infancy. Therefore, we set a goal to take into account findings from past research into working poverty in the world, focusing primarily on the situation in Slovakia. Based on EU SILC 2016 data, we created our own model of variables in which we assumed that they determine the genesis and manifestations of working poverty in its particular structural components and we measured their intensity using the logistic regression and the decision tree model.
