“…A model for workplace‐based assessment has been adopted by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and employed as part of its strategic plan for the epoch 2011–2015, as described by Collins . The modalities employed are similar to those described in the intercollegiate model from the United Kingdom and a significant emphasis is placed on the steps that have been taken to encourage trainers to embrace the various modalities of in‐training assessment as it represents a significant departure from the assessment considered in the traditional apprenticeship model.…”
