“…This implies that the addition of n-Al 2 O 3 into PEEK enhanced the rate of PEEK crystallization. A similar enhancement of crystallization was reported for AlN/PEEK [2], CaCO 3 /PP [13], SiO 2 /PP [26,28,29], clay/PVDF [27], SiO 2 /PET [30,31], clay/PET [32], and nanocomposites. However, our results are in contrast to the recent study of CaCO 3 /PEEK [5] and Al 2 O 3 / PEEK [15] nanocomposites, where decrease in T c was found with the increase of fillers in PEEK matrix.…”

“…In case of SNP@PMMA film, weight loss (81.72%) was comparatively less as a result of better interaction involving semicrystalline polymer, PMMA, and SNP. This strong interaction could be attributed to the effective nucleation by SNP, known to facilitate crystallization in PMMA which implied lesser degradation at extreme temperature conditions [24]. Superior thermal resistance of SNP and stronger interactions between the SNP and polymeric matrix enhanced the thermal stability of the SNP-polymeric composite films considerably.…”

“…Bikiaris et al (2006) found that solid-state polycondensation can act as a facile method to prepare poly (ethylene terephthalate)/silica (PET/SiO 2 ) nanocomposites with high molecular weight and an adjustable degree of branching or crosslinking. He et al (2006) prepared PET-SiO 2 nanocomposites by in situ method, and found that the PET crystallization rate increases significantly with increasing the silica content. The silica nanoparticles can act as an efficient nucleating agent to facilitate PET crystallization.…”
