In Situ Electrospun Porous MIL-88A/PAN Nanofibrous Membranes for Efficient Removal of Organic Dyes

Abstract: In recent years, metal–organic framework (MOF)-based nanofibrous membranes (NFMs) have received extensive attention in the application of water treatment. Hence, it is of great significance to realize a simple and efficient preparation strategy of MOF-based porous NFMs. Herein, we developed a direct in situ formation of MOF/polymer NFMs using an electrospinning method. The porous MOF/polymer NFMs were constructed by interconnecting mesopores in electrospun composite nanofibers using poly(vinylpolypyrrolidone) … Show more

“…Analysis of the condensed phase pyrolysis can give valuable insights into the mechanism of flame resistance for polymer systems. [15,16,[50][51][52][53][54] Condensed phase analysis was performed on electrospun mats by analyzing the residue using ATR-IR after holding mats to elevated temperatures for 15 min using TGA. Figure 6 gives the IR spectra of mats prepared with 100 rel.…”

“…In the gas phase, with the increase of combustion temperature, the decomposition of PGD produces catechol radicals, • PO 2 , • PO, and other benzene radicals, which are rapidly released to capture the • H and • OH radicals produced by the combustion of FREP to play the role of the quenching effect. 2,38 Meanwhile, the incomplete combustion of FREP generates non-flammable gases to reduce combustible gas concentration during the combustion process. In the condensed phase, the phosphorus-containing substances generated by the decomposition of PGD promote the dehydration of polymer chains to form a stabilized graphitized carbon layer containing a P-crosslinked structure, thus inhibiting the exchange of heat, oxygen and volatile substances.…”

“…They form a hard and dense carbon layer that can limit the further decomposition of the matrix and retain a more complete matrix. 37,38 In contrast, the addition of other toughening agents breaks down this intermolecular crosslinking, resulting in fewer and looser carbon residues. In addition, PVC/ACR and PVC/PC-b-PDMS samples have a distinct difference in their color, although the morphology of the carbon residues is similar.…”

“…This is due to the intermolecular crosslinking that occurs in PVC and PVC/CPE during combustion.
