In silico Prediction and Validations of Domains Involved in Gossypium hirsutum SnRK1 Protein Interaction With Cotton Leaf Curl Multan Betasatellite Encoded βC1

Abstract: Cotton leaf curl disease (CLCuD) caused by viruses of genus Begomovirus is a major constraint to cotton ( Gossypium hirsutum ) production in many cotton-growing regions of the world. Symptoms of the disease are caused by Cotton leaf curl Multan betasatellite (CLCuMB) that encodes a pathogenicity determinant protein, βC1. Here, we report the identification of interacting regions in βC1 protein by using computational approaches including sequence recognition, and bin… Show more

“…A high confidence score might reduce the false positive interactions by removing the interactions that might not interact in an actual situation. The experiments, such as pull-down assays [ 65 ], co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP) [ 66 ], far-Western blot analysis [ 67 ] and crosslinking [ 68 ], are among examples that can be adopted to validate the in silico interactions.…”

“…The βC1-NbrsgCaM binding provides energy supplement to geminivirus which weakens antiviral system in the host by repressing RDR6 expression. CLCuMV associated βC1 binds with CML11 in G. hirsutum ultimately provides calcium as a nutrient source for virus pathogenicity and symptom enhancement (Kamal et al , 2019).…”

“…From the study of insect hormones and neurotransmitters to the exploration of gene expression patterns, molecular tools provide a granular understanding of the physiological processes that govern insect development, reproduction, and response to environmental stimuli. As entomologists wield these precision instruments, they uncover fundamental insights that have implications not only for advancing basic science but also for developing targeted strategies in pest control, disease management, and biotechnology (Razzaq et al, 2021;Kamal et al, 2019a).…”
