Abstract:BackgroundAcquired resistance to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) frequently results in chemotherapy failure and disease recurrence in advanced colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. Research has demonstrated that dysregulation of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) mediates the development of chemotherapy resistance in cancerous cells. The present study aims to identify key lncRNAs associated with 5-FU resistance in CRC using bioinformatic and experimental validation approaches.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
