In-Service Fault Localization in WDM Passive Optical Networks

Abstract

We propose a novel in-service fault localization scheme in WDM-PON. Two PONs are combined and monitored simultaneously. Fiber fault and automatic protection switching in ONUs are monitored in real-time at central office (CO) without interrupting customer service.
