Abstract: Doctor Mautner is correct in claiming to have described the first indisputable case of epidermolysis bullosa letalis under the name of pemphigus hereditarius (Monatschr. f. Kinderheil., 22:15, 1922). We certainly did not intend to deprive him of the credit for this achievement.
