Abstract: Phase-locked loops (PLLs) have been successfully used as frequency synthesizers for decades in complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) transceivers for wireless communications. However, modern developments in communications require PLLs with wider loop bandwidth and lower in-band phase noise.
