Software cost management is a significant feature of project management. As such, it needs to be employed in a project or line of work. Software cost management is integral to software development failures, which, in turn, cause software failure. Thus, it is imperative that software development professionals develop their cost management skills to deliver successful software projects. The aim of this study is to examine the impact of cost management success factors with project management factors and three agile methodologies -Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum and Kanban methodologies which are used in the Pakistani software industry. To determine the results, the researchers applied quantitative approach through an extensive survey on 52 agile software development companies in Pakistan. Statistical techniques, such as Pearson's correlation and mean and standard deviation were performed to examine the results. Following this analysis, we found that cost management has a positive effect on other project management factors, which are schedule, scope, risk, resources, and quality. Furthermore, it is determined that, in general, Kanban performed better than both, Scrum and XP in the context of project management factors.

Time and risk management have always been major concerns in a continously growing number of processes and methodologies used to develop all kinds of useful products and services. Software like any other industry not only needs the most appropriate development methodology but also an efficient project management strategy that is capable of estimating and managing development times and any potential risks as best as possible in order to deliver high quality software products and services on time. Hence, the success or failure of software development projects depends on the efficiency by which several key factors such as cost, time, and risks are managed and how other software development factors influenced them. This paper presents an exploratory factor analysis to study the effects produced primarily on time planning caused by common factors observed in outsourced software development projects such as communication, teamwork, personnel training, among others. In our work, we also build a structural model in which we analyze the relationships between sets of dependent and independent variables derived from the responses of a survey applied to 32 Mexican organizations that subcontracted their software development projects to outsourcing providers. The results are presented and the reliability of our model was validated using the SmartPLS software.

The successful software project estimation is critically dependent upon measurement of productivity. The overall goal of productivity metric is to improve the ability and performance of information system evaluation as well as maintenance, moreover determine the performance of the information technology (IT) performance in business applications. The activities corresponding to productivity metrics vary at distinct management levels. The activities used within project management leads to dynamic framework that could be opted in changing or dynamic environments. At the project management level, productivities activities concentrates on effectiveness. For instance, during estimation of effort required to reproduce a system, assumption must be manufacture regarding the ability that could lead to successful development of software project and this is fetched from past projects. This paper focuses on identifying the productivity metrics that are essential and appropriate for project management process.
