Improving the Quality of Friction Surface by Applying Antifriction Materials to Them

Abstract: The article investigated the process of applying antifriction coatings to the surface of hardened cast iron gear wheels. The diffusion coating of cast iron wheels with vanadium greatly strengthened the surface and increased its wear resistance. Aluminium, tin bronze and copper were used as antifriction materials. The coating was applied with metal brushes. The brushes tore off individual fragments of anti-friction metal particles and smeared them over the surface of the coated product. Research results have co… Show more

“…The studies carried out by Sun et al (2011) and Veselovsky et al (2022a) established the values of wear of the gears after 1000 hours of operation in the following gear mechanisms: transfer boxes of the ZIL-130 car and the KKU-2 potato harvester, a mechanism with an intermediate wheel for the drive of the bulkhead table of the combine KKU-2, the drive of the starting mechanism of the DT-75 tractor, the drive of the rotary mower, and the drive mechanism of the unloading conveyor of the KKU-2 combine. The results are shown in Table 3.…”
