Improving the efficiency of photovoltaic cells embedded in floating buoys

Vahdat Nazerian,

Tole Sutikno

Abstract: Solar cells are used to power floating buoys, which is one of their applications. Floating buoys are devices that are placed on the sea and ocean surfaces to provide various information to the floats. Because these cells are subjected to varying environmental conditions, modeling and simulating photovoltaic cells enables us to install cells with higher efficiency and performance in them. The parameters of the single diode model are examined in this article so that the I-V, P-V diagrams, and characteristics of … Show more

“…Solar cells that directly convert solar energy into electricity will have a key role as a future energy supply [1][2][3]. Usually, a single solar cell does not generate a huge amount of power, so a number of solar cells are connected in series to form a string with higher voltage and then the strings are connected in parallel to achieve a higher current and thus a higher power [4]. If any of these solar cells are shaded, they will work in reversed biased mode and instead of generating power, the cells under shading will dissipate the power produced by other cells.…”

“…Software-based search techniques are utilized for this reason; however, the process takes longer. Content-addressable memories (CAMs) are the best options for cloud computing applications because of their high-speed comparing capabilities [2]. Applications like data compression, network security, pattern recognition, and address lookup in internet routers all commonly make use of CAM.…”
