Improving the cleaning efficiency of pile drums

Abstract: The condition of cleaning machine-picked cotton in technological processes and the possibility of increasing the efficiency of cleaning pile drums due to changing different surface sizes have been analyzed in the given article. A part from it, the quality of the fiber produced at cotton gins, the impurities of natural and technological defects in its composition were analyzed. It has been shown that insufficient efficiency of cleaning technological equipment, an increase in the proportion of impurities in the … Show more

“…Humidity content of cotton and fiber is an important indicator in the technological process of cotton processing. The main purpose of wetting cotton is to increase the moisture content of the fiber, and the wet air or steam sprayed in the technological process sits on the surface of the fiber and moistens it [12]. Cotton fibers processed in cotton ginning plants are sent to spinning plants in our republic in the form of pressed bales.…”

“…It has been established that in the existing equipment, the humidification efficiency does not exceed 0.2-0.5% [9][10][11]. An analysis of the state of fiber wetting in technological processes showed that raw cotton is moistened after the cotton-cleaning equipment of the UCC, the fiber is in the condenser tray [12]. Both methods of moistening have serious drawbacks, in the first case, due to the supply of moistened raw cotton to the separator in the pneumatic tube in air at a speed of 25-30 m/sec, water drops condensing on the surface of the fibers pass into the air, and in the second, the fiber with a density 12kg/m 3 , 0.47-0.5 meters thick, it is sprayed with steam and only a layer 5-10 cm thick is moistened, that is, the moistening is very uneven.…”
