Improving the Characteristics of Wear-Resistant Coatings Obtained by HDTV-Boration, their Modification by Intermetallic Compounds of Fe-Al and Ni-Al Systems

Abstract: Innovative technology of HDTV-borating, that is distinguished by high hardness, strength, wear resistance and corrosion resistance occupies a special place among the hardening processes for steels and construction materials. During the new technology process HDTV-boration of structural steel 65Mn (65Г in Russian) under a mix layer of charge mixture based on fused borate fluxing agent P-0.66, boron carbide and intermetallic compounds FexAly, NixAly. Using the methods of X-ray phase analysis, spectrography and m… Show more

“…In this case, the material is formed directly on the surface of a part (in-situ), as a result of controlled physical and chemical processes [16]. For example, such new materials are represented by the boride coatings developed by the authors and obtained by HFC-heating of steel parts in special boronizing mixtures based on B4C and P-0.66 flux [17].…”

“…The base of these materials is a Fe-B-FeBn eutectic, which can contain inclusions of various strengthening phases: borides of steel alloying metals (Cr, W, V, etc. ), or substances complying the technological requirements of induction surfacing, for example, intermetallics of Fe-Al and Ni-Al systems [17].…”
