Improving High Availability and Reliability of Health Interoperability Systems

Abstract: The accessibility and availability of patient clinical information are a constant need. The Agency for Interoperation, Diffusion and Archive of Medical Information (AIDA) was then developed to ensure the interoperability among healthcare information systems successfully. AIDA has demonstrated over time the need for greater control over its agents and their activities as the need for monitoring and preventing its machines and agents. This paper presents monitoring and prevention systems that were developed for … Show more

“…In the future, a communicative link can be established between BMaPI and a system developed by our research group, which enables the monitoring and the prevention of faults from the AIDA agents and machines [10]. This communication will enable to balance resources of AIDA (or other MAS) through the migration of its agents.…”

“…At Centro Hospitalar do Porto (CHP), the interoperability between information systems is ensured by Agency for Integration, Archive and Diffusion of Medical Information (AIDA). This system of intelligent agents allows communication of the different CHP systems, as well as standardization of clinical systems, overcoming the medical and administrative complexity of the different information sources (Marins et al, 2014). Thus, AIDA ensures Information sending and receiving from the hospital and is able to managing, storing and responding to the requests for information made from third parties (Machado, Alves, Abelha, & Neves, 2007;Peixoto, Santos, Abelha, & Machado, 2012).…”
