Abstract:The Jarrell-Ash-Lang goniometer (manufactured by Picker X-Ray since 1970) is equipped with a Schneeberger stage to provide the accurate translational motion necessary for x-ray topographs. The commercial model produces striations on the topographs perpendicular to the scanning direction. These are caused by a torque exerted on the stage by the drive mechanism. This difficulty has been remedied by design changes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
