Improvement of the magneto-optic readout efficiency of MnBi1−xSbx thin films by use of mirror substrates

Abstract: Film systems of the sequence silver-silicon oxide-antimony doped manganese-bismuthide-silicon oxide were prepared on glass substrates with the aim of reaching high readout efficiencies for holographically stored information in this magneto-optic medium. The readout efficiency is measured indirectly with a simple device which allows simultaneously the approximate determination of Kerr rotation and ellipticity.
