Improvement of Systemic Symptoms after Dental Implant Removal

Abstract: Dental implants have spread worldwide in dentistry. The risks and complications reported are limited to local issues. However, in this case, a patient complained of systemic symptoms after dental implantation. This case report aims to demonstrate that systemic symptoms such as lumbago, shoulder stiffness, neck pain, hip joint pain, and facial pain improved after the removal of wellosseointegrated titanium implants. The results suggest that harmful electromagnetic waves received by implants affect body conditio… Show more

“…In order to avoid harmfulness of electromagnetic waves, it is necessary to move away from equipments emitting harmful electromagnetic waves, not to use such equipment, to wear a substance that neutralizes harmful electromagnetic waves [20] [22], and to cover the area which attracts harmful electromagnetic waves with a material which screens from electromagnetic waves like this case, etc. We have reported cases that the symptoms might be caused by harmful electromagnetic waves which titanium dental implants might attract [20] [21] [22]. The titanium bolts implanted in this case and titanium dental implants are the same in material and similar in shape.…”

“…This condition includes many symptoms, such as headaches, fatigue, tinnitus, dizziness, memory loss, irregular heartbeats, and dermatological symptoms, which are considered to be caused by electromagnetic hypersensitivity [21] There have been previous reports of a case in which dizziness and joint mobility disorders were induced by harmful electromagnetic waves collected by a dental onlay [26] and a case in which balance dysregulation and dizziness were induced by harmful electromagnetic waves collected by a dental amalgam filling [27]. Cases in which dental implants may have collected harmful electromagnetic waves have also been reported [7] [8] [9] [28]. Similar to the aforementioned cases, the miniscrew implant described in the present case may have collected harmful electromagnetic waves, resulting in the patient's reported symptoms.…”

“…if an implant is well osseointegrated, it may attract harmful electromagnetic waves, resulting in many adverse systemic conditions [7] [8] [9]. A miniscrew implant has a peculiar shape compared with other types of implants and is primarily used as an orthodontic anchor.…”

“…However, this dental treatment has been shown not only to delay progression but also to reverse it in some cases. The author has reported a relationship between dental condition and systemic health [6]- [15]. The author is a dentist and therefore did not have access to magnetic resonance imaging.…”
