Improvement of solar flat‐plate collector performance by optimum tilt angle and minimizing top heat loss coefficient using particle swarm optimization

Abstract: In this paper, the efficient amounts of radiation received by a flat‐plate collector and top heat loss coefficient along with affecting parameters are investigated using measured data in different climates of Iran. Coded program in MATLAB software is then distributed to calculate the optimum tilt angle for extracting the highest solar radiation in different months of the year for five cities of Iran with different geographic latitudes. An optimal annual slope is obtained for maximum utilization and for conditi… Show more

“…44,45 Lots of experimental, modeling, and theoretical investigations have been done to assess the behavior of solar systems. [46][47][48][49][50][51][52] Various variables like solar radiation, the initial temperature of the coolant, geometry, material and incline angle of system, coating layers, and different kinds of working fluids are most discussed.…”

“…5 Among the renewable energy resource, solar energy is the most attractive alternative source to meet the load demand due to its easier predictability compared to wind and availability in various areas. 6 The photovoltaic (PV) panel system is widely utilized to supply the required load demand independently or connected to the grid. 7 In grid-independent systems, the use of a backup and storage system is essential.…”
