Abstract: A novel process for sewage sludge bioleaching by mixed Thiobacilli (Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans and Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans) using a 12-stage, 180 L working volume continuous plug-flow bioreactor, is presented.
