Improvement of methods for controlling power oil of cooling tower recycling water supply units at Rivne nuclear power plant

Abstract: The relevance of the study is conditioned upon the fact that at nuclear power plants, water pumping units using energy oils are operated in the heat exchange equipment of power units. The diagnostic criteria of oils allow identifying defects in the operation of technological equipment. The purpose of the work – to increase the reliability of the operation of oil-filled power equipment by improving the monitoring of the physical and chemical properties of power oil TP-30. The main attention is devoted to increa… Show more

“…The CCS cooling water concentration cycles are controlled by blowdown, which is sent to a reservoir; water losses due to evaporation and blowdown are replenished with additional water taken from the reservoir (Figure 1). Corrective reagents are used for water treatment, in particular phosphonate treatment with HEDP implemented at the Rivne NPP [33].…”

“…Atomic energy is a safe and stable source of electricity production. For the operation of an atomic power plant (NPP), it is necessary to ensure cooling of its elements and systems, which are powered by large amounts of water that then discharge into a water body [6,7]. In the cooling systems of nuclear power plants, heating, evaporation, and concentration of the cooling water components occur [8,9].…”

“…The first sub-section focuses on radiation pollution caused by war and nuclear power plants. The talks in this sub-section present mathematical tools for restoring the surface distribution of radiation pollution based on remote measurement data [252,253], a conceptual scheme for creating environmentally friendly Gd-containing neutron-absorbing nanocomposites [254], a factor-criterion model for selecting the optimal option for transforming the "Shelter" object into an environmentally safe system [255], and the formation of the carbonate system of circulating cooling water of the Rivne NPP and its influence on the surface waters pH levels of the Styr River [256]. These talks provide novel approaches and techniques for reducing the radiation exposure and contamination of humans and the environment.…”

“…Open recirculating cooling systems (RCS) of power plants are necessary for heat removal [1]; thermal loads from cooling water are released into the atmosphere through cooling towers, and return water is discharged into reservoirs [2]. The reliability of RCS from the point of view of the chemical aspect is related to the probability that the system will not fail due to chemical processes [3], the manifestations of operational failures are symptoms of the main influencing factors: chemical composition, temperature, pressure [4].…”
