Improved ultrasonic aspiration system for safer laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Abstract: Abstract:A modified ultrasonic aspiration system (Sumisonic ME2400; Sumito Bakelite Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan) with an angled tip-end (Sumisonic hand piece F28; Sumitomo Bakelite Co. Ltd.) provides easier and safer dissection of the triangle of Calot. It has enabled us to delineate the ductal structures even if pronounced edema and inflammation exists and has led to successful laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
