“…Most of the endoscopes used in the study by Shah et al ( 37 ) study were either standardtype DBEs or standard-type single-balloon endoscopes, whereas we used only a short-type DBE. Previous studies of ERCs using only a short-type DBE have reported success rates of reaching the target site of 86-100%, success rates of ERC-related interventions of 90-96%, and overall success rates of 81-94% (38)(39)(40). Th ese rates are consistent with the rates in our present study and suggest that the use of a short-type DBE contributes to an improved procedural success rate.…”

“…surgically altered anatomies has been facilitated by the development of balloon enteroscopy, including the use of a double-balloon enteroscope (DBE), a single-balloon enteroscope, and a short DBE [2][3][4][5], and ERCP has been commonly performed as the initial attempt to manage postoperative disorders prior to percutaneous drainage and reoperation.…”
