Improved patient participation through advance care planning in nursing homes—A cluster randomized clinical trial

Abstract: To investigate how implementing advance care planning with a whole-ward approach impact patient participation in nursing homes. Methods This was a pair-matched cluster randomized clinical trial with eight wards in eight Norwegian nursing homes. We randomized one ward from each of the matched pairs to the intervention group.
