Improved Detection Method of Current Component Based on Instantaneous Reactive Power Theory

Abstract: Due to p q i -i current detection method based on instantaneous reactive power theory will produce detecting error when voltage is unbalance, This paper proposed a method which uses the phase angle of positive sequence fundamental voltage to correct the error, Simulation results show that the active and reactive component of positive sequence fundamental current and the active and reactive component of negative sequence fundamental current can be obtained rapidly and accurately. Keywords-asymmetrical supply vo… Show more

“…The ip-iq method is based on the IRP theory [14] but it is modified to be applied in single phase system [15][16] A Direct Control for Active Power (DCAP) method is proposed by the authors to mitigate harmonic and reactive power under perturbed source voltages. This method was validated in a previous work when applied to the 3-phase 4wire split-capacitor Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) and compared to the original p-q method, the modified p-q, the pseudo-mapping matrix, the p-q-r theory, the NF p-q method.…”

“…The p-q theory translates into a high dynamic response and stable steady state. Many authors [21][22][23] have successfully extended the notion of separation of active and reactive power instantaneous in a coordinate system can be used in single phase. Thus the benefits offered by the p-q theory for three-phase networks are extended to the single-phase case [24].…”
