Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) of Service Quality for Virtual Reality Golf Center

Abstract: The purpose of this study was examine service quality of virtual reality golf center using Importance and Performance Analysis (IPA), from September to November 2017, adult participants who participated in virtual reality golf center in Korea were selected as subjects. The collected data were analyzed and interpreted using SPSS program, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and Importance-Performance Analysis. The results of this study were as follows. First, quadrant 1 include… Show more

“…The use of IPA in the sports sector has increased notably in recent years [15,18,19,22,25], including in golf [28,29]. However, although there are studies applying this type of analysis in golf user participants [27], there are no references in the literature that use the IPA on the perception of golf managers.…”

“…More specifically, the IPA has also been used in the field of golf as a management tool [27] and for evaluation of golf customer satisfaction [28], for the study of the quality of service of a virtual reality center [29], to identify the most important aspects in young consumers of golf clothing [30], to evaluate the most important aspects of the condition of the golf course turf among consumers and turf managers [31], etc. However, there are no studies on the perception of golf managers and users that compare the importance and valuation of both with respect to the elements of the service.…”

“…The IPA matrix consists of four quadrants including keep up the good job (Q1), Possible overkill (Q2), Low priority (Q3), and concentrate here (Q4) and it separated by the Centre point [11,12]. The first quadrant, "keep up the good work," reflects a product or service's key qualities and prospective competitive advantages.…”

“…For the adjustment of golf ball speed, this system needs to simulate the real shot, so the fying speed of the golf ball should be as close to the reality as possible. In the virtual golf simulation system, it is difcult to perceive the elevation information of the green simply from the graphical point of view, so it is difcult to determine the ideal landing point of the golf ball when hitting the golf ball on the green from a long distance [16]. Terefore, this paper uses advanced coloring language technology to color the elevation of the golf course greens, aiming to provide users with sufcient information about the elevation of the green terrain.…”
