Importance of pharmacologic considerations in the development of targeted anticancer agents for children

Abstract: Purpose of reviewThe purpose of this review is to describe key pharmacologic considerations to inform strategies in drug development for pediatric cancer.Recent findingsMain themes that will be discussed include considering patient specific factors, epigenetic/genetic tumor context, and drug schedule when optimizing protocols to treat pediatric cancers.SummaryConsidering these factors will allow us to more effectively translate novel targeted therapies to benefit pediatric patients.
