Parentage is the most sacred relation in Islam. The religion Islam assigns various duties to parents to be fulfilled, which are the due rights of their children. Like other duties, a most important duty is educating children. When a child reaches to the age of understanding and learning, then parents need to provide education and knowledge to grow his/her intellectual abilities that empower the child to identify and learn about how to deal with the different aspects of life. Education elucidates to children the purpose of Divine plan of creation. The Islamic Sharia offers equal opportunities of education to both male and female. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "seeking of knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim male and female". As acquiring knowledge is an essential religious duty in Islam therefore any carelessness in fulfilling this duty means compromising their responsibility. Many parents in Pakistan are failed to fulfill this duty therefore a huge number of students remained uneducated. This paper is an attempt to know about the duties of parents regarding educating their children, and critically analyze the present scenario in Pakistan.

Kadın olgusu tüm zamanlarda tartışma konusu olmuş, günümüzde de tartışılmaya devam edilmektedir. İlk emri "Oku" ayeti ile başlayan, ilim öğrenmeyi kadın-erkek ayrımı yapmadan her Müslümana farz kılan İslam dini; tefekkür etmeyi, araştırmayı emretmiş, tebliğ edilmeye başladığı andan itibaren kadınları da içine alan bir eğitim faaliyetini ve zihinsel dönüşümü başlatmıştır. İslam'ın sunduğu bu anlayış çerçevesinde pek çok kadın âlim yetişmiş, hadis, fıkıh, tefsir gibi ilimlerin yanında sağlık, tarih, şiir gibi pek çok alanda da ilmi hayata katkılar sunmuş ve çeşitli ilim dallarının sonraki nesillere aktarılmasında önemli hizmetler yerine getirmişlerdir. Ancak zaman içinde bazı coğrafyalarda gerek dinin yanlış ve eksik anlaşılmasından ortaya çıkan yanlış yorumlamalar ve gerekse kültürel kodların İslami öğretilerin önüne geçmesiyle kadınların eğitimi konusu tartışmalı hâle gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada temel kaynaklar Kur'an ve hadis ile ilk dönem uygulamaları incelenerek İslam'ın kadına ve kadınların eğitimine yönelik bakış açısı ele alınmıştır. Sözü edilen gayeye ulaşmak için alana yönelik kitaplar, makaleler, tezler incelenerek doküman analizi yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular sistematik bir biçimde analiz edilerek yorumlanmıştır. Kur'an'ın temel ilkeleri ve Hz. Peygamber'in uygulamaları değerlendirildiğinde kadını eğitimden mahrum bırakan ve cinsiyet ayrımcılığını çağrıştıran bir yaklaşımdan söz edilemez. Hz. Peygamber'in kadın-erkek ayrımı yapmadan, insanları ilim öğrenme konusunda sadece teşvik etmekle kalmadığı, aynı zamanda insanları eğitebilmek için yoğun bir gayret sarf ettiği ve kadınların öğrenme hürriyetinin sağlandığı bir ortamın oluşturulduğu kaynaklarda mevcuttur. Kadının bireysel ve toplumsal rollerini yerine getirebilmesi, toplumsal ilişkilerini düzenleyebilmesi ve iyi bir kul olabilmesi iyi bir eğitim ile mümkündür.

Islam strongly encourages the education of women both in the religious and social fields. Cultural education and training are considered as an integral dimension of social development. There is no priority for men over women in relation to the right to education. Both of them were encouraged to get education, as already said, 'from the cradle to the grave'. Indeed, all the verses of the Qur'an that are related to education and those that advocate for the acquisition of knowledge are directed to both men and women. In accordance with the commands of the Koran and Hadiths encouraging women to develop all aspects of their personality, it is believed that an educated Muslim woman must not only emit moral qualities in her home environment, but she must also have an active role in the broad fields of social, economic development and politics. For how does a woman uphold good social and economic policies or disagree with them if she is not intellectually equipped for the task?Keywords: Education, Women, Philosophical Perspective
