“…The gneiss complex consists of a basement of unknown age (possibly >1,750 Ma) dominated by felsic gneisses and migmatite with enclaves of pelitic and calcsilicate supracrustal rocks and mafic granulites (Dey et al., ; Karmakar et al., ; Maji et al., ; Rekha et al., ; Sanyal & Sengupta, ; Sanyal et al., ). Metapelitic and granulitic enclaves from the southern and central parts of the gneiss complex yield P–T estimates of 4 kbar, 600°C (Mishra et al., ) and 4–6 kbar, 750–850°C respectively (Bhattacharya & Mukherjee, ; Maji et al., ; Manna & Sen, ; Sen & Bhattacharya, ).
