Unprecedented attention is being given to Smart Grid, Micro Grid and Internet of Things (IoT) in the Republic of Korea recently but such systems' effect is not well experienced by the market since they require additional and costly reforms for the existing household electrical system where adaptive communication platforms are needed. As such platforms, both wireless and wire communication technologies are being considered at the moment. Usually, they include WiFi, Zigbee technologies and the latter, LAN technology. However, communication speed decline due to signal attenuation and interference during wireless communications are considered to be the major problem and the extra works involving time and costs for the LAN system construction can be another demerit. Therefore, in this paper, we have introduced a Power Line Communication-based Smart Outlet System Expandable at Home to complement these disadvantages. Proposed IoT system involves Power Line Communication (PLC) technology which is essential to constructing a Smart Grid.

Although it has been considered that antique maps have significant means in the field of liberal arts and are of important cultural heritage that contains valuable scientific signals of past ages, available foundational technologies that analyze such signals and use these for further study are scarce. For this reason, the technology which allows comparisons between past and present topographies and structures of the same area was developed using GPS and constructing systemized databases for both antique and current maps. For the development, a GPS-based augmented reality has been employed to schematize topographies and features described on an antique map. For the calculations and estimations, reference points have been created. This application is written with Java Android and can be installed on Smart Phones and GPS. More subtle geographical elements or features are expected to be found with this proposed technology which supplements modern surveying techniques. The costs involved in the analysis process will be reduced despite of its precision results. Moreover, the commercial value of the proposed technology will be increase widely once it has been improved for an introduction to market.

In this article, an open source monitoring system based on Internet of Thing (IoT) is designed to monitor electrical energy consumption. This system provides real-time information about energy consumption over time. To implement this system, sensors were used to measure data, a Raspberry as an application server to display and store data, and microcontrollers to collect information. The process of data transfer via the Internet using the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT (protocol between the microcontroller and the server. Through the experimental results obtained from the proposed system, the voltage, current, active power and power consumption were successfully recorded.
