Clove farmers who are currently still using wood as a footrest mounted on bamboo, more specifically, this invention relates to the design of a new footing design for bamboo stairs using metal clamps as a substitute for wooden steps which are often at risk of breaking. To overcome existing problems, craftsmen need to be given a bamboo ladder (Banggul) for picking clove flowers that is ergonomic and safe using strong and light metal clamps as an ergonomic footrest that can be installed and removed and the distance of the bamboo steps can be adjusted according to anthropometry. the farmer’s knees are high so that when he climbs the bamboo steps his working attitude is natural. The results showed that the workload of farmers reached 127,54 ± 4,90 dpm (heavy workload), while the resting pulse 75,61 ± 0,506 dpm or experiencing an increase 51,935± 2,19 dpm. Musculoskeletal complaints before work 30,32 ± 1,52 and after-work complaints score 51,20 ± 5,021. Fatigue scores after work increased from before work 32,10 ± 3,354 while the fatigue score after work increased to 55,11 ± 4,321.

The present research seeks to design and implement an ergonomic improvement in the roll-forming station of a metalmechanical company, where the incidence rate for low back pain is 29.4%. The methodology used to evaluate the situation prior to the improvement was the NIOSH equation, where the risk of injury was found to be 3.30 at the origin and 3.57 at the destination. According to NIOSH benchmarks, these factors constitute a high risk of injury and urgent intervention. Following the design and implementation of the improvement, the NIOSH equation was again used to demonstrate the decrease in risk presented by the operation. An improvement of 81.5% in the rate of lifting at the origin and 73.4% at the destination was achieved. The research presented validity in the NIOSH equation, helping to corroborate the effectiveness obtained by the design and implementation of an ergonomic improvement, thus reducing the probability of injury,and increasing job satisfaction.

Currently, the textile and clothing industry contributes 2% to the global annual GDP and generates more than 57 million jobs worldwide. In South America, a country with a high market share in the textile sector in Peru, whose industry is the objective of this research due to its lack of studies in the accessory sector of clothing. Musculoskeletal disorders are the most common and leading cause of injury and disability in workers and in the clothing industry; it is due to the handling of materials that involve machinery with a high rate of repetition of work by operators. This article aims to reduce the percentage of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) by redesigning workstations and using combined ergonomic tools together with Lean tools so that, in addition to giving focus to workers, a different way can be found to add value to the process and improve productivity. A 71.85% decrease in MSDs was achieved in the sewing and cutting area, as well as a decrease in absenteeism by 20.73%, along with savings of S /. 505.72 per year.
