“…NiosII processor is responsible for information management and interactive module. NiosII is a 32-bit Harvard architecture RSIC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) embedded soft-core processor [6] whose property is over 200DMIPS. Embedding MCU/DSP functionality into FPGA avoids the complexity and difficulty of programming and debugging in multi-development environments.…”

“…According to the above requirements, thanks to FPGA (Field Programming Gate Array) technology and its own advantages such as hard-logic implementation of parallel trigger, reconfigurable, embedded processors [4], FPGA's application in the controller design has been widespread concerned recently [5]. An adaptive controllers using partially reconfigurable technology was designed to achieve the property that controller changes parts of its structure configuration on-line once external environment diversification is detected by the controller in order to save controller logic resources [6] [7]. Taking advantages of SOPC IPcores duplicating technology and features of totally custom hardware, as well as the principle of parallel processing, a flexible to configure controller was developed for the robot using FPGA to improve the control system flexibility and real-time performance [8].…”

“…This technology provides a cost effective option and flexibility in modeling and coding which allows use for versatile applications. Rapid prototyping technology is being widely used in many application areas for real-time data analysis and control such as avionics, power, acoustics, mechatronics, and automotive applications (Keunsoo et al, 2005;Postolache et al, 2006;Spinozzi, 2006;Toscher et al, 2006). Parallel digital signal processors (DSPs) (French et al, 1998;Lavoie et al, 1995) are also being used as rapid prototyping technology for real-time simulation and control.…”
