Für die Herstellung nasaler Epithesen wird regelhaft Silikon als Material verwendet, welches gegenüber anderen Kunststoffen, Glas, Gummi, Porzellan, o. Ä. eine Reihe von Vorteilen aufweist: Es kann sehr genau der Form, Farbe und Oberflächenstruktur der Nase des Patienten angepasst werden, es ermöglicht äußerst dünne Ränder, die den Übergang zur gesunden Haut kaum erkennen lassen, es ist flexibel und passt sich auch der Körpertemperatur an, was den Tragekomfort erhöht [ 19 ].…”
