Impedance calculation with URMEL-I using multigrid methods

Abstract: J calculates the im pedan ce o f cylindrically sym m etric obstacles o f arbitrary shape with open side tubes. This code is specifically designed for the im pedan ce calculation above cu t-off wrhere existing resonator codes cannot be used. The num eric solution is based on the F IT-m eth od , a finite difference m eth od. It re quires the solu tion o f a large, inhom ogeneous, com p lex m atrix equation for a given frequency. A inultigrid algorithm has been set up to solve

“…A method to calculate the cavity impedance in the frequency domain, including the radiation at the beam tube ports, has already been presented in [7], and in principle the Q-factors of trapped modes can be derived from these results in a similar way as mentioned above for the time domain scheme.…”
