Abstract: Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is a potent microvascular vasodilator derived predominantly from perivascular sensory neurones. It has been suggested that vascular reactivity to CGRP is diminished with increasing age whilst levels of CGRP are also thought to decline.
